| Hello,
my name is MoJo. I was adopted 9 years ago from a no-kill shelter in Denver.
I came to my guardian with some health problems; ear mites, chronic respiratory
infections, a difficult-to-define brain disease which causes occasional
seizures, irritable bowel syndrome and what would seem to most humans
and felines my biggest dilemma -- blindness. However, in spite of years
of drugs and alternative therapies I'm in great shape! My energy is boundless
and my purr is quite loud – you can always hear me! And my vet says
I'm doing terrific! She can't believe my high spirits and is amazed that
I so quickly memorize my surroundings that I rarely bump into anything.
In fact, unless you gaze into my eyes, I bet you'd never know I'm blind.
I also want to tell all you humans out there who think adopting a pet with disabilities will "disable" your life. Love and patience really do go a long way and achieve remarkable results. And the best thing is every day I'm told by my guardian that she wouldn't have me any other way. MoJo Maholo Simba Engel |
