This is our all-time favorite recipe from Mom

"Dirt" Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 Bag Oreo Cookies (1 lb 4 oz)
  • 1 Stick of Butter (1/2 cup)
  • 16 ounces Philadelphia Cream Cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups Powered Sugar
  • 2 1/2 cups Milk
  • 3 small packages Vanilla Instant Pudding
  • 16 ounces of Cool Whip

Preparation

  1. Crush Oreo cookies and set aside.
  2. First Bowl: Cream together; butter, cream cheese and powdered sugar.
  3. Second Bowl: Mix together; milk, instant pudding and Cool Whip.
  4. Fold together ingredients from both bowls.
  5. In a medium-sized plastic flower pot (2 gallon size) layer crushed Oreo cookies, then filling mix, cookies, filling mix, etc. Top layer should be cookies.
  6. Chill at least 2 hours before serving. Add some fun by inserting a plastic flower in the center of the pot before serving and if serving to children you might consider adding some gummie worms.
